Tumescent Liposuction
Tumescent Liposuction is any liposuction procedure that is performed using Tumescent Fluid. Tumescent Fluid is a dilute lidocaine solution that is used to numb the fatty area. All liposuction surgery performed at Houston Smart Lipo Centers is performed using the tumescent technique. Our liposuction centers use a combination of modalities which may include Smart Lipo Laser Liposuction, Vaser Liposuction, and Power Assisted Liposuction. Because all of these procedures are done using only local numbing, Tumescent Fluid, all Liposuction done at our centers is a form of Tumescent Liposuction, also known as Liposculture.
Vaser Liposuction
Vaser Liposelection works in conjunction with Tumescent Liposuction procedures. First, the area of the body to be worked on is injected with an anesthetic solution to numb the area. Then, ultrasound waves, or high frequency sound energy, is administered with a small probe. The high-energy waves break up fat on contact, allowing fat cells to be absorbed into the anesthetic solution. The fat is then quickly and easily suctioned out of the body.
Power Assisted Liposuction
Power Assisted Liposuction is a specialized form of liposuction that uses a vibrating cannula, or straw, to break up and remove fat cells. At Houston Smart Lipo Centers, Power Assisted Liposuction, or PAL, is used on most liposuction procedures to help suction out fatty deposits using less force than manual liposuction.
